Wehmeyer on Top at the Snotcycle MTB Race

January 30, 2010 – It was 17 degrees and light snow with 40 riders lined up for the start of the Snotcycle Cross Country Mountain Bike Race in Leesburg, VA.  Jason Wehmeyer was representing CRFP in the Cat 3 race.

Jason started in 5th position, but quickly moved to the lead after the 1st mile.  Midway through the race the snow changed to ice causing the 9 mile single track course to become a little slick for the remaining distance.  Not an issue for Jason, mountain bike racer turned ice racer, he was never contested after taking the lead and brought home CRFP’s first win of the year.

If it wasn’t for his Camelback freezing up, it would have been a perfect race!  The bonfire and Smores made up for that though.
